TPO Membrane Systems
TPO is a thermoplastic polyolefin membrane that provides durability and energy efficiency at an affordable cost. The seams between sheets are welded together with hot air to create extremely strong bonds.
The membrane is UV resistant as well as Energy Star rated and is resistant to many chemicals. The membrane can be installed by fully adhering with bonding adhesive, mechanically attaching with screws and plates or ballasting with stones or pavers.
EPDM Membrane Systems
EPDM is produced from ethylene, propylene and diene polymers. With billions of square feet installed world wide and over 40 years of active installations EPDM has proven itself time tested. The membrane is manufactured to be strong yet elastic and is easier to apply and repair then TPO or PVC systems.
EPDM is typically black but can be manufactured white as well for an additional premium. The system can be installed by fully adhering with bonding adhesive, mechanically attaching with screws and plates or ballasting with stones or pavers.
PVC Membrane Systems
PVC membranes have been manufactured for over 50 years. The primary benefit of PVC is its resistance to most chemicals including grease, acids, oils and many types of fuels. This makes PVC a prime candidate for manufacturing facilities or buildings that have penetrations producing chemical discharge.
Along with TPO, PVC seams are welded using hot air and are incredibly strong. The membrane is also UV resistant and withholds well against puncturing. The membrane can be installed by fully adhering with bonding adhesive, mechanically attaching with screws and plates or ballasting with stones or pavers.
Every building is unique and Mile Square Roofing can assist you in determining which system is right for your building. For additional information on the systems listed above or to request a quote please contact us.
